Memphis, TN (June 28, 2011): Buckman, a specialty chemical manufacturer based in Memphis, TN, exhibited for the first time at the NFPA Fire Prevention Exhibition and Conference held June 12-15 in Boston, MA. This premier event in fire and life safety was attended by thousands of individuals seeking to view and learn about the latest developments in fire retardant technology. The Buckman booth displayed examples of their new greener GS series amino polyphosphate fire retardant technology. The FlameblocĀ® GS series is licensed to Buckman by Flame Seal Products, Inc. This Buckman exclusive technology was developed to fill a marketplace need for an environmentally responsible product to replace the more hazardous chemistries currently being marketed and under regulatory scrutiny because of toxicity concerns. Buckman also presented a paper on the new GS product line at the conference. Visitors to the booth covered a diverse range of occupations, including fire marshals, military purchasing agents, industry regulatory specialists, theatrical set designers, formulators, and state and local code enforcers. Global interests were well represented and provided an opportunity to further expand the GS technology throughout the world. Buckman Business Manager for the Coatings and Plastics Division Jim Hachtmann stated, "This show has provided us with opportunities in areas we consider strategic. We are excited about working with fire marshals on the local and state level to provide and educate individuals about our new safer and greener technology". Ā About Buckman
